[Paper] Performance Analysis of Dual-Polarized MIMO-SFN Considering Imbalance of Received Power

NHK has been studying transmission technologies that contribute to increasing spectral efficiency and developing large capacity wireless transmissions. An effective technology is dual-polarized multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO), which uses both horizontal vertical waves. We are currently an advanced Integrated Services Digital Broadcasting-Terrestrial (ISDB-T) system provide simultaneously a 4K8K broadcasting service for fixed reception 2K mobile reception. The ISDB-T adopts not only single-input single-output (SISO) but also MIMO the expansion of capacity. However, difference radio propagation or transmitter antenna's radiation pattern can easily cause imbalance received power between each polarization even if transmitted same. A network usually consists multiple stations cover target areas across cities. In this case, single frequency (SFN) considered efficient usage frequency. performance in SFN environment depends on desired-to-undesired ratio (DUR) main station relay because interference signals from them. case MIMO-SFN, DUR need be analyze characteristics. paper, considering evaluated by computer simulation, laboratory experiment, field experiment.
